Balmorhea Spring

Balmorhea is about 35 miles from Fort Davis, and about an hour’s drive from our cabin in the mountains.  Since we don’t have a working shower at the cabin yet, it is a pleasant relief to go for a swim at the spring.  The water temperature is between 72 and 76 degrees Farenheit year-round.  This is one of the largest desert springs in the world.
