In the street ahead of me are my two travelling companions--John Herndon on the left and John Campion on the right.  We were all taller than most of the inhabitants, so we really stuck out.  Herndon was especially prominent because he is six feet tall and blonde-haired.  The women would nod at him and whisper "guero" (blonde) to each other.
