Plate  6.  “Robin in Woods.”  A 10”x12” ruby ambrotype on purple glass imaged using a Dallmeyer 3A Patent Portrait Lens .  The Petzval design lens was originally intended to cover full-plate sheets.  Using it on an oversized plate allows peripheral lens aberrations to be seen on the plate.
