Schouboe SN 141 is the earliest Type II pistol observed. It has a safety lever like that of the 1907 drawing, but due to the low serial number I believe this gun likely dates to 1904. Note the magazine release,
which does not extend over the baseplate of the magazine. The magazine is released by pressing the button toward the front of the gun. The hole in the magazine release is clearly visible, but the gun is uncocked, so the hammer
strut end is not visible.
