Interim and production breech block comparison.
A later prototype breech block is compared to a production breech block.  Both have a spring steel extractor, but the prototype retains the long removable tail as well as the cartridge guide lug.
(For the picture on the right I had to prop the tail up--normally the tail will fall out
if the breech block is turned upside down.)
