Later Prototype Breech Block Comparison
Here is a later prototype breech block (far left and far right) compared to a production breech block (center).  Both have the spring steel extractor, but the prototype retains the long removable tail as well as the cartridge guide lug.  (For the picture on the far right I had to prop the tail up--normally the tail will fall out when the block is turned upside down.)
