Top - When the trigger is first pulled and the slide is still in battery the spring-loaded ejector is in the up position, but the sear lever has tilted the sear down and released the striker.
Middle - As the slide moves to
the rear the ejector is pressed downward and its lower rear edge pushes the sear lever downward so that it can no longer contact the sear.
Bottom - Even when the trigger is released, as long as the slide is out of battery
the ejector lever presses down on the sear lever, disconnecting it from the sear.
