Carefully trace the outline of the trigger guard and barrel on both pieces of leather. I usually try to place the line approximately 3/8 inch outside of the actual dimension of the gun. Note that I have positioned the gun so the holster will cover both the trigger guard and the safety, and the barrel will be completely covered by the holster. I’ve given myself some extra leather at the bottom of the holster (where the barrel goes) just to make sure the barrel will be protected, knowing I can always trim it later if I need to. |
