In the foreground is the 1910 Mauser showing the sear lever projection which must be able to move upward in order to fire the gun. When the slide is all the way forward there is a hollow on the underside of the slide into
which this projection moves. In the background can be seen the top of the disconnector on the Model 1914. As the slide moves to the rear it depresses the disconnector which prevents the trigger from connecting with
the sear lever.
